Charles was born in OH on Sep 16, 1861.2,3,1,4,5
Charles, Susan, William, Jacob, Theophalus and Laura was listed as a household member living with Adam Langel on the 1870 Census in Liberty Township, Fairfield Co, OH.3
Charles, William, Jacob, David and Theophalus was listed as a son in Adam Langel's household on the 1880 Census in Liberty Township, Fairfield Co, OH.6

He married Anna Virginia Green in Licking Co, OH, on Oct 13, 1887.8,2,1,4,9,5,10,11

Front row: The man in the center is George Green, so the woman to the left must be Sarah. The young couple to the right are Jennie and Charles Langel.
The ages are about right for the back row to be Jesse, Ella, Will, Arminta (or Amanda), either William Hannah or Charles Lenington, and Amanda (or Arminta). The front row might then be Pearl, Sarah, George, Jennie, Gus, and Charles Langel. If the baby is Gus, the picture was probably taken in 1889.

Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census in Harrison Township, Licking Co, OH. Charles was a farmer. They owned the farm, with a mortgage. He and Annie had been married 12 years; Annie had borne 5 children, all of whom were still living. Charles, Annie and Gus (listed as David) could read, write, and speak English. Only Gus attended school the last year, for about 6 months.2

Charles Langel, Jennie Langel, (back row, fourth and third from right)
The obvious guess is that the older couple is Adam and Susan Langle. Some of the boys in front are probably Everett's brothers, and I would guess that the little girl at right on the middle row is Louanna. Does that make the baby with Jennie Everett?

Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1910 Census in Harrison Township, Licking Co, OH. Charles was a farmer who owned his farm; Gus, George and Paul were working as farm laborers with him Louanna, Paul and Frank were in school.5

On back: The Langels: Charley and Jennie, Gus, Geo, Paul, Adam, Frank, Louanna
I think:
Back Row: Gus, George, Louanna, Charles, Paul
Front Row: Adam (EA), Charles, Jennie

Charles was listed as the head of a family on the 1920 Census in Harrison Township, Licking Co, OH. Charles was a farmer, who owned his farm. Frank was a farm laborer, working elsewhere. Adam was in school.4
According to EA Langel, about a year after Halley's comet went over, Charles sold the farm and all the equipment and animals for $21,000, and moved to Broadway, on the east side of Pataskala. There, they had a house, a barn, a horse and buggy and some chickens. Charles was basically retired, and spent his time working in the garden and sitting down at the barber shop with the guys.12
Charles died on Oct 7, 1925 in Harrison Township, Licking Co, OH, at age 64. The cause of death was apoplexy, of 3 months duration.13,12,1,14,9 An obituary was published on Oct 9, 1925 in the Columbus Dispatch in Columbus, Franklin Co, OH.15 He was buried on Oct 10, 1925 in Pataskala, Licking Co, in OH.15
